Maley, private, Company I, 166th Infantry, 42nd Division, died after an illness ofseveral days in our base hospital. He was sent here with some affection of the lungs, coughingalmost incessantly. He was given immediate care and constant attention by our doctors andnurses. I visited him at his bedside and learned from him that he was of the Roman CatholicChurch and that his mother lived in Cincinnati. I am therefore writing to you to express my deepsympathy and to inform you of some details which you might not otherwise receive. Before yoursons death the French priest of this place
