Snow making turbines or snow guns are used to create the best base layer for skiing early in the fall when outdoor conditions are best for making snow.
Snow guns force a fine mist of water into a turbine generated blast of air in the correct temperature and humidity range to lay down a layer of snow that creates the most desirable bond to the underlying ground and an optimal base to support the entire winters layers of natural snow that will cover well and last well to the end of the skiing season.
