Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal

The Viewpoint of São Pedro de Alcântara invites us to sit in its wooden benches and enjoy one of the best views of Lisbon, face to face with the Castelo de São Jorge. This fantastic viewpoint lives in the heart of the Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara, situated in Bairro Alto, right at the top of the Colina de São Roque. Those who come up from Restauradores, usually take the Ascensor da Glória, finishing at the garden’s staircase or, if legs allow it, the Calçada da Glória parallel to the tram rails. From here, we can easily observe the three Colinas de Lisboa6 that guard the Baixa Pombalina. At the very centre, the Colina do Castelo crowned by the Castelo de São Jorge, revels us the Bairro da Mouraria and the Bairro do Castelo where the towers of Sé de Lisboa emerge from the urban rooftops. In the background, further to the left, comes the longitudinal and white building Convento da Graça together with another building, this time highlighted by its uniqueness blue colour – the Villa Sousa. If we continue to the left, closer to the viewpoint, we can see the Westside of Colina de Sant’ana curiously announced by the Jardim do Torel's trees and respective viewpoint. The unlevelled relief of Lisbon Valleys is highlighted in this perspective, mainly the Vale Verde, Vale de Arroios and Vale da Mouraria.
