A coal pile is burnt at an open-cast mine, on the outskirts of Dhanbad. Jharia in the Indian state of Jharkhand is home of around 600,000 people. It is situated in the heart of the biggest coal field in the nation. Jharia, which gets its name from the city and region of the same name, is also known for having a terrible rate of coal seam fires, which are one of the main sources of pollution in the environment both locally and worldwide. Massive amounts of carbon dioxide are released into the atmosphere by coal fires.
