Rusty railway line of the GNER Great Northeastern Railway along the riverside in urban Dundee, UK

The history of Dundee's railway stations is rather long and confused. Because several companies owned the lines, each had its own station, main lines terminating at Dundee West, Dundee East and Tay Bridge. Tay Bridge Station is first listed in the Dundee Directory for 1778-79, listed under the North British Railway Company, which ran from Berwick and Carlisle to Dundee and Perth. Riverside, the Southwest of the City Centre, is a busy mixed use area, with Dundee Railway Station at one end and Dundee Airport at the other. There are a variety of units and hangers on the airport site, with larger factory and warehouse/distribution facilities on Riverside Avenue. Notable occupiers include W & P Retail Ltd, who have a distribution facility on Riverside Avenue and Tesco.
