An A-P (anterior-posterior) chest x-ray of a patient with visceral leishmaniasis. The patient’s heart is seen centre-left of this picture. The patient’s right lung ( the left side of this picture) shows some abnormal shadowing reflecting pathological changes. It is not known if this is related to the patient having leishmaniasis. Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease caused by single celled protozoa of the genus Leishmania.
