The ball may doso many different things after it may get up high, it may keep low, or itmay screw, or shoot or hang or take a for-ward leap. Then the player must calcu-late the best height at which to take theball. The volley has none of these diffi-culties. You simply have to put yourracket in the way of the ball, square to racket and the ball will do the rest.
