Bletchley Park bombe code cracking machine used to break the German military Enigma codes in WWII - recreated for a film as no originals exist.
Details from a recreated Bombe device at Bletchley Park, made for a film. All the original devices were destroyed on the orders of Churchill after the war to protect the Bletchley Park code breaking secrets. Enthusiasts and volunteers at Bletchley Park helped to recreate a working machine based on declassified drawings and instructions. The Bombe has featured in several films including 'The Imitation Game' starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly, as well as 'Enigma' based on the book by Robert Harris and U-571.
