Where pulp stones are producing the trouble, they canoften be detected, if intense care is exercised in makingthe radiograms. If these reflexes are the result of hid-den caries, the radiogram will frequently suggest the INDICATIONS FOR X-RAY IN DENTISTRY 167 presence of such a condition, providing the cavities occurupon the mesio-or disto-approximal surfaces of the teeth,and are sufficiently extensive so that the density of thetooth structure in the region of the cavity is decreased,or the contour of the tooth is altered.
