The Pont du Gard is an ancient Roman aqueduct bridge that crosses the Gard River and is part of a 50 km long aqueduct that runs between Uzès and Nîmes in the South of France. The aqueduct was built by the Romans in the first century AD and was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1985. At it is the highest and one of the best preserved of all Roman aqueduct bridges.
