Shown here in the upper register is a judgment scene in the Underworld, according to ancient Egyptian beliefs. At far left, the deceased is being prepared and then led to judgment before the god of the Underworld Osiris (seated at far right). The bottom register shows the sun god's barque being carried in a painted reliefs decorated the palace at Thebes, Malkata, that was home to the ninth pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty, Amenhotep III. They were published in History of Egypt by Gaston Maspero in 1921.
