Someof the recent builders along this route have appreciated thepossibilities for future through traffic, andhave used great care to design their roadsfor heavy high-speed service. From pointof construction, one of the best of theseproperties is the Cleveland, Painesville &Ashtabula Railway, operating betweenPainesville and Ashtabula, Ohio. Thisroad was placed in operation in the fallof 1903, and is the connecting link in thechain of lines mentioned above as beingnow in operation.
