Festa dos Rapazes celebrated annually in the villages around Braganca between the feast of St Estavao on 26 December and the feast of Epiphany on 6 January Unmarried boys over 16 signify their passage from youth to adulthood by dressing in masks and multicoloured suits draped with cowbells and rampage through the streets terrorizing little boys and demanding sausages from women The event ends with a Mass and food
