The author and critic Dame Margaret Drabble visits the Museum of the Opificio della Pietre Dure in Florence, Italy, photographed by for Intelligent Life Magazine. A table with flowers,fruit,birds and grape vines made from semi-precious stones with marble busts of ( L-R ) Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi and Leopold 11 of Hapsburg Lorraine, the last Grand Duke of Tuscany. The museum displays work made from semi-precious different coloured stones cut and sliced on site and placed into designs of flowers, musical instruments and landscapes. Margaret Drabble is seen in the rather tatty side street outside the Museum, walking around the museum galleries and visiting the workshop where the different stone is stored and cut.
