William Morris Arts and Craft foliated border made especially for the Kelmscott Chaucer
William Morris used multiple nested borders for many pages in the Kelmskott Chaucer he designed and printed in 1896. This is a single one of those borders, more suitable for modern use yet evocative of Mediæval and arts-and-crafts sensibilities, of an old-world quality and workmanship in which ornament and art were pervasive.
