How the Oran Boom was "Crashed". How the ex-American Coast Guard cutter "HARTLAND", and the "WALNEY" "crashed" the boom at ORAN has been told by officers who took part in the gallant action which resulted in the loss of the two vessels, though not before part of their work in the Oran landings had been done. The two boats crashed through the boom and American assault troops and a mixed force of British and American naval ratings from them enabled landings to be made on both sides of the port.
