A P R (Tony) Rolt Coronation Races 14th May 1938, where he drove car #26, 1500cc supercharged ERA R5B to two wins. this is the ex B Bira car and still being raced today and one of the must successful racing cars ever, always known as 'Remus' and still painted in Bira's colours, of pale blue and yellow, the race colours of Siam (now Thailand), but during Rolt's ownership, it was painted grey.


ERA R5B after Bira, and Rolt passed through several well known drivers, but probably had its most successful period from 1959 onwards, owned and driven by the Hon Patrick Lindsay, The race track at Donington Park was the first genuine road racing track in England, situated near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, though the original track's 'Melbourne Loop, was across the border in Derbyshire. The track ran up to the outbreak of WWII, when it was commissioned by the Ministry of Defence, It effectively lay dormant until purchased by Bernard (Tom) Wheatcroft and re-opened May 28th 1977, with the frst car meeting run by the Nottingham Sports Car Club. T W (Tom) Green was a press photographer with the Nottingham Guardian, and some of the photographs in the collection were on glass slides.
