Since leaving the Land Office hehas had a large practice as Land Attorney andis now engaged in such practice and in lookin^^after his private interests. In the course of hisaddress before the Santa Cruz Convention said: I am sorry for one thing in the State ofCalifornia—that it is not compulsory for everycity in the State to send to a convention likethis a HUGH R. OSBORN Mr. D. D. Kellogg, Assessor of Pasadena, was born in Rutland, Vt., and whenten years of age moved with his parents to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where untilfifteen years of age he attended public school. In 1862 enlisted in the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry and after an active service ofthree years in the Civil War was mustered out.
