In his religious andpolitical affiliations he is a Presbyterian and a Dobie is a man of more than ordinary energy andability, and among the early settlers of the town no onehas been more successful, and perhaps no one has donemore in the development of the town than he. His namewherever known is a synonym for honesty and in all he is a gentleman whose identification with anycommunity is always productive of A U E E L I U S; NATURAL , TOPOGRAPHY, Etc. AuRELius township lies on the western border of thecounty of Ingham, and is bounded north by Delhi, east byVevay, south by Onondaga, and west by Eaton Rapidstownship, in Eaton County. The township-lines were sur-veyed in 1825 by John MuUett, and the subdivisions byCapt. Hervey Parke in 1826. The township has a varied surface. In the north andsouth are considerable level areas, while the centre is morebroken, and abounds in extensive marshes. Willow Creekrises in a small lake on section 28, and flows north andwest into Grand River. Another small stream, rising inthe southeast corner of the town, flows north and east, andenters Sycamore Creek at Mason. In places along WillowCreek is found a very fair quality of sandstone. GrandRiver flows across the northeast corner of the township,cutting off a small strip on sections 6 and 7. In the southeast part of the township is a small
