Chris Hedrick, from Glendale, California, as the commanding officer of the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Charlotte (SSN 766), Aug. 25. Charlotte is currently moored at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard undergoing a major overhaul for necessary repairs, maintenance and modernization needed to prolong the life of the submarine.
