Bressanone-Brixen, South Tyrol, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy: in the heart of the old town, the Hofburg Gallery (Galerie Hofburg). It houses works of art collected by Jakob Kompatscher, including sculptures and paintings by well-known local, national and international artists such as Angela Tripi from Sicily, Adriano Colombo from Veneto or Leo Demetz from South Tyrol. Today, it is a meeting place for lovers of modern and classical art. The spa city of Bressanone-Brixen was founded in 901 AD, becoming the seat of powerful Prince Bishops whose influence forged links between southern Germany and northern Italy. South Tyrol became part of Italy after the 1914-18 First World War.
