Hehas been with the Southern Pacific Railroad,New Orleans, from 1895 to date, first asdraughtsman, then as chief draughtsman. In1902 he was promoted to the position of as-sistant master mechanic, and in 1904 wasagain advanced to operating engineer. Heis also president of the Biloxi Supply Co.,and a member of the New Orleans Chess,Checkers, and Whist Club. Mr. Hopkins is the son of Aristide and. Guy Hopkins Mamie (McNeil) Hopkins.
