Spc. Bridgette Brown, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, intelligence section, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, prays to God during a poetry recital at the African American/Black History Month program on Forward Operating Base Kalsu, Feb. 21. Brown's poem, "Why Did You Make me Black?", was about a girl asking God why she was born black. During the poem, God, voiced by Staff Sgt. Maurice Patrick, HHC, signal section, 2 BCT, 3rd Inf. Div., answers her with reasons why he made her that way and why she should be proud. African American heritage celebrated at Kalsu 78397
