CHRISTOPHER ALLEN, of StaffordSprings, Tolland v:ounty, was born in Allenton, , Aug. 15, 1854, a son of Charles and Mary (Cong-don) Allen. Allenton, R. Matthew Allen emigrated from England toDartmouth, Bristol Co., Mass., in 1700. and in1712 purchased and settled on a tract of land inNorth Kingstown, which is now called Island. Charles Allen, father of Christopher Allen, wasborn in 1798, in Allenton. and was prominentlyidentified with all public affairs of his native died in 1869.
