Storm damage in the old harbour of the fishing village of North Berwick, Scotland, on the morning of 15th December 2012. A major storm swept in overnight from the North Sea and 20 foot waves broke over the seawall, sending a 40 foot refridgerated container that was parked in the carpark into the harbour, smashing many boats and yachts, causing tens of thousands of pounds of damage. Luckily no one was hurt. This is the second time in three years that major storms have damaged the ancient harbour at North Berwick, raising concerns that climate change is significantly affecting coastal communities.
