Mission Dolores Basilica (Mission San Francisco de Asis), 3321 16th Street, San Francisco
Founded by Franciscan Friar Francisco Palou October 9th, 1776, near the native Indian village of Chutchui and the Mexican Pueblo of Yerba Buena, by a little inlet called Laguna Dolores. The Mission building survived the 1906 earthquake, and is now the oldest building in San Francisco.
