A Hungarian sabre for a magnate 19th century. Old, marked (stained), single-edged blade with three fullers on either side. Cruciform hilt with gilt brass cross-guard, gilt brass mounts decorated in relief with painted-on turquoises. Velvet-covered grip. Wooden, velvet-covered scabbard with gilt mounts richly decorated in relief and two movable suspension rings. Slightly damaged, grip loose, signs of age. Length circa 97 cm.
