Valeggio sul Mincio, Villa Sigurtà,Designed by Vincenzo Pellesina, a disciple of Palladio, commissioned by Count Antonio Maffei, which ended in 1693, with frescoes by Biagio Falcieri. The Risorgimento was the residence of Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria and Napoleon III. In the twentieth century the Counts Sigurtà will host Maria Callas, Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain, King Constantine of Greece, King Simeon of Bulgaria, Prince Charles, Prince Philippe of Belgium, the Duke of Aosta, and Princes of Liechtenstein and Monaco as well as, the Nobel laureates Konrad Lorenz and Alexander Fleming and Dr. Albert Bruce Sabin among many other personalities.
