Candida fungi are commonly found on the skin and the mucous membranes of the mouth, digestive and respiratory tracts and the vagina. Common candida infections include oral thrush, vaginal thrush and nappy rash. Candida tropicalis may be a factor in Crohn's disease. This culture was grown on a nutrient medium such as agar.
