A statue of Bladud, said to be the son of Ludhudibras and 8th king of the Britons. There is no historical evidence to support his actual existence, but much folklore surrounds his name. Supposedly he ruled for twenty years from 863 BC or perhaps 500 BC, during which time he founded the Roman city of Bath. The statue carries a date of 1699, but is thought to be far older.
