THE electric railway at Streator, 111., of whichWalker Miller is manager, has just been victori-ous in a damage suit, for the value of a horse,which was killed by a shock from a fallen wire whichcrossed the trolley wire. The facts in the case are sub-stantially as follows: On February 9, 1891, there was a great sleet storm, so thatthe wires of the CentralUnion Telephone Com-pany were nearlj allbroken down in the cityof Streator. The wiresof the Electric StreetRailway Company with-stood the storm and re-mained in perfect condi-tion. It was claimed bythe plaintiff that the wiresTelephone Company fellof the Union Centralacross the trolley wire ofthe electric railroad andsuspended to the eight oclock onthe morning of February20, the plaintiff, Godfrey,was driving his teamalong the street and camein contact with the wire,which he claimed wassuspended from the trol-ley wire to the horse was instantlykilled.
