This year the Scotland ISTeck and KinstonRailroad was completed to Kinston and a regular train ser-vice began. This gave a boom to Grifton. This railroad ran through a fine section of country andother little towns sprang up along its route. Among themwere Ayden and Winterville, both of which were destined tobecome of importance in the near future. Falkland was a post-office with a daily mail many yearsbefore the war of 1861-5, with a good business. It is sup-.
