Coloured X-ray (front view) of the pelvis of a patient, showing a fixed double hip fracture using dynamic hip screws. Also known as Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF), each thigh bone (femur) suffered a fracture to the neck of the bone and has been surgically immobilized by the insertion of a long metal pin (dynamic hip screw) fixed with metal screws. (See image 1 showing one fixed hip and one fractured).
