This picture shows detail of the granite coastline with a ruined property once used by the military. The islands of La Maddalena and Caprera lie between the North of Sardinia and Corsica, which can be faintly seen in the far distance. This area is very popular with sailors and hosts the annual Rolex World Championship yacht races each September. In the far distance beneath the cloud is the island of Corsica. The natural areas on the Sardinian coast are protected by the Coastal Conservation Agency.
