Washington Convention Center, in Washington , on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Dr. Lunney develops effective countermeasures for preventing and controlling important viral diseases of pigs, such as Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS). I also develop immunologic tools and novel assays to evaluate pig responses to vaccination and infectious diseases, pig immunology disease resistance, genomics. Dr. Janet Slovin's research in the Fruit and Vegetable Lab is directed toward using molecular approaches to determine how normal plant responses to stress can be manipulated to improve the development of basal and acquired thermotolerance during critical periods in plant growth and development, and thus, improve agricultural performance. USDA is a sponsor of, and exhibitor at the USASEF. Multiple USDA agencies including National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), Forest Service (FS), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) will be participating in this event.
