Washing a dissected knee tendon in preparation for transplantation. The tendon is being washed in a sterile cupboard, to minimise the possibility of contamination. Tendons from donors can be kept in storage in tissue banks and then transplanted as allografts into suitable recipients when they are required. Tissue samples are kept with the tendons so that the tendons can be checked for compatability with the recipient and for disease.
