Dead Viet Cong lay inside the perimeter of the camp at Com Lo, after attacking Marine forces on August 26, 1966. The attack involved Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, Charlie Company, 3rd Tank Battalion, and Hotel and Golf Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment. A total of 78 confirmed VC deaths were reported. The attackers were believed to be part of the 812th North Vietnamese Army.
