It is traversed bynumerous septa which are attached also to the inner and lower wall of the carotid artery, which form-ing an S-shaped bend lies in the sinus. The outer and upper wall of the carotid artery is adherentto the wall of the sinus. Imbedded in this wall lie the three nerves supplying the eye muscles, andfurther below lie the first and second branches of the trigeminus.
