The following cases will illustrate the phenomenaof hysterogenic zones : A negro girl was brought intothe City Hospital with grand hysteria. She lay onthe floor in the crucifix attitude, perfectly still andrigid, until the ovarian or inframammary regionswere pressed upon, when a convulsive seizure wouldcome on. In this case deep pressure did not entirelysucceed in breaking up the attack. Another girl inhysterical lethargy could only be awakened by deeppressure over the ovary. A young married womanwas thrown into an attack of grand hysteria by rub-bing the spinal region, and the attack was cut shortby continuous forcible pressure in the same none of these cases had similar procedures everbeen resorted
