Two Victorian-style kiosks offer refreshments at Merchants' Gate, one of the busiest entrances to Central Park, at its south-western corner, near the Maine Monument. Both are operated by Ferrara's Italian Cafe. The one here serves, as advertised, smoothies and gelato (ice cream). The other, on the west side of the entrance, serves up cappucinos, espresso and pastries. There are tables and chairs for diners. The Central Park Conservancy restored the Merchants' Gate Plaza with decorative granite pavingstones and low seating walls in 1997.
