A Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 – Reinforced, takes off from the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) Dec. 9, 2021. The 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conducted operations aboard Arlington as part of Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (AMX) in preparation for an upcoming deployment. AMX is the second at-sea period in the MEU’s Predeployment Training Program; in which a join assessment of performance and recommendation is made for the MEU, signifying progress towards a deployment certification.
