If space allowed wewould very much like to publish three or four plates ofSheratons designs, but we have already devoted morespace than we first intended, so in this case we offer onePlate, X, which shows up quite a number of Sheratons THE PRACTICAL CABINET MAKER 179 best designs; and these, along with the figured illustra-tions, will, we think, make sufficient exhibits for Figure 96 Plates XI and XII show some fine examples ofHeppelwhites work. These are choice specimens of thisstyle, and show up some very good work. Plate XIIexhibits six sideboards, four pedestals, and a tea chestby Heppelwhite. The notes referring to Nos. 5, 8, 9,and 11 state that the ornaments to the fronts . .may be carved, painted, or inlaid with various coloredwoods. The pedestals were made of the same heightas the sideboards, were generally about 16 in. or 18 in.
