Alesund in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway is part of the traditional district of Sunnmøre and has art nouveau architecture. The city was rebuilt in the Jugendstil after a fire in 1904 destroyed much of the city. It has the busiest fishing harbour in Norway and is a frequent stopping point for cruise ships such as the Hurtigruten.
