Aftermath of powerful earthquakes which hit northern Japan, October 2004.
A resident of Kawaguchi shaving after sleeping in his car prefering to sleep there due to aftershocks and tremors from the 4 powerful earthquakes which happened within 40 minutes of each other on 23rd October 2004. The earthquake death toll has reached 35 with thousands injured or displaced. Subsequent aftershocks and tremors have slowed down repairs and relief reaching residents of the villages affected. These were the most powerful earthquakes to hit Japan since 1995.
