When the North Reservoir is built, the STA and reservoir will be connected with an intake structure and a culvert that will run under the canal. Together, the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), and local governments are working to deliver the Indian River Lagoon (IRL) - South project. The features work singularly and together to improve water storage and water management flexibility, water quality, and the spatial extent of various habitat throughout the southern Indian River Lagoon Watershed – benefitting multiple species and the economy.
