Kok, commanding general of the Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division, administers the Oath of Enlistment to two-dozen Army recruits during a Salute to Service ceremony Nov. 8 at the National September 11 Memorial Museum in Manhattan. Kok stressed the importance of readiness in the military as focus shifts from fighting terrorism to also preparing to engage with peer and near-peer threats.
