One locomotive will be built tohaul a maximum load at a minimum rate ofspeed; another to draw a similar load at thehighest rate of speed; another to draw a lightload at a high rate of speed; another to carrybundles, so to speak, that is, to do the switching(shunting) about passenger yards; another to dosimilar work about freight yards where heavyloads have to be moved quickly.
