Soweto Gospel Choir at Adelaide Fringe season, Adelaide, Australia

In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Nelson Mandela, Soweto Gospel Choir return to Adelaide with a brand new show celebrating the life of the father of their rainbow nation. Since its formation in 2002, Soweto Gospel Choir has been universally acclaimed as one of the world’s greatest and most colourful vocal ensembles. Hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, Soweto Gospel Choir is named after the suburb of Soweto (South West Township) which was the home of Nelson Mandela and where the major uprisings occurred that eventually brought democracy to South Africa. Following their 2017 ‘Top 10 Selling’ Adelaide Fringe season, Soweto Gospel Choir returns to the 2018 Fringe with a repertoire that features Freedom Songs, African Gospel as well as international classics.
