The chiesa of Santa Maria di Leuca
Built high on a hill, the Chiesa of Santa Maria di Leuca marks the southern most tip of Puglia - the heel of the boot of Italy, where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet and join. This was an important place of pilgrimage and built over an older Roman Temple dedicated to Minerva.
