When General Braddock came with his army in 1755, youngMorgan joined the expedition with his wagon and horses, be-ginning his military career as a teamster. Braddock pushedforward with the greater portion of the troops, leaving ColonelDunbar in command at Little Meadows. When Braddocksforce was routed by the Indians, Virginia raised an additionalregiment, and gave the command to Washington. Morgan,with his wagon and team, was attached to the quartermastersdepartment.
